Socratease Quiz Question Types


Question Types


Quizzes aren't just multiple-choice questions. You can assess your students and candidates with different question types, to test their approach. Socratease Quizzes have 13 different question types. We list all of them below and explain a bit about them. You could also watch the video below to understand them better, and to see how to create them.



Different Question Types


1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 below are available on all AutoProctor Plans. For 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10, you need to be on the Premium or Elite Plan. 11, 12 and 13 are available only on the Elite Plan. Learn more about this on this link.


1. MCQ


A question with only one correct answer



2. MCA


A question with multiple correct answers



3. Short Text


Essay-type question where you can set minimum and maximum length


4. Single-line Input


Like Short-text, but for smaller inputs. You can set validations, like accepting only emails, numbers or dates as inputs.



5. Coding Editor


Candidates can write code with syntax highlighting, autocomplete, etc. You can choose the language to write the code in. The code cannot be executed.



6. Cloze


Fill-in-the-blanks, but the candidates can see the different options (including wrong ones) and can drag and drop them into the blanks.


7. Match


Match related items by dragging and dropping items across two columns


8. Categorize


Given a set of items, the candidate must classify them into the right bucket.


9. Comprehension


Nest questions within each other. Write a piece of text and ask multiple questions based on that piece of text.


10. Document


Upload a document as a PDF and ask multiple questions based on that



11. Answer Any


Create (say) 5 questions and let the candidates choose any (say) 3 out of the 5 questions


12. Voice Input


Type a piece of text and ask the candidates to record themselves speaking that text.


13. Autograded Text


You type in the question text and the expected answer. The candidate's answer is automatically marked as correct if their submission matches the expected answer exactly.
