Question Display Mode
Question Display Mode on Socratease Quizzes
On the settings of your Socratease Quiz, you should see a setting called Question Display Mode, which is set to All-at-once by default. This setting changes the way questions are displayed to the test taker. The different options for this setting are:
- All-at-once (like Google Forms): candidates see all the questions at the same time, one below the other, like a Google Form.
- One-by-one, with question navigation (like Typeform): candidates see question one at a time, and can navigate back-and-forth between questions. For both these options, you set a timer for the entire test, NOT for each question.
- One-by-one, without question navigation: candidates see one question at a time. Once they submit a question (by attempting or skipping it), **they CANNOT** go back to it. Timer is set each question, and not at the level of the quiz.

When would I use One-by-one, without question navigation?
When showing questions one-by-one, without question navigation, you can set a timer for each question. This gives the test taker less time to cheat on a question, as at a given time, they can view only one question, for a limited amount of time.
How are Timer Settings Affected by Question Display Mode?
When set to One-by-One, without question navigation, the following timer settings cannot be set at the level of the test, in your AutoProctor test settings:
- Duration: Can only be set at the level of the question
- Auto-Submit: Every question with a timer gets submitted automatically when time for the question runs out
- Must Submit By: Cannot Start After can be set instead
