Payments and Credits Explained

This page explains the process and concepts behind AutoProctor's Pricing. For the latest costs and details, see our Pricing Page and the Calculator and the FAQs on it. Refer to that page to understand this article.

What do you pay for on AutoProctor?

When you create a Test Admin account on AutoProctor, you get 10 credits (test attempts) for free. Each credit corresponds to a single test attempt. For eg, with 10 credits, you can have 10 candidates attempt 1 test each, 5 candidates attempt 2 tests each, etc. Once you use up the credits, you must purchase a subscription to continue using AutoProctor.

1. Purchase Subscription

AutoProctor has 3 plans (Standard, Premium and Elite) with 3 frequencies (Monthly, Quarterly, Yearly). The least expensive plan is the Monthly Standard. The more expensive the plan, you'll obviously get more features.

Let's say you purchase the Monthly Standard plan on 5th March, 2025. You pay X dollars towards it. You will then be charged X dollars on the 5th of each month. If you choose a different frequency (Quarterly, Yearly), the date will change accordingly. To stop this auto-deduction, you must cancel your subscription.

When you purchase the subscription, you get a certain number of credits (say, 150). Every time the subscription renews, the same number of credits get added to your account. So, at the end of 5 months of having an active subscription, you will have 150 x 5 = 750 credits

Each time a candidate successfully starts a test, a credit gets deducted. Let's say you have 50 candidates attempt 2 tests each month. So, at the end of 5 months, you'd have used up 50 x 2 x 5 = 500 credits. That is, your balance will now be 750 - 500 = 250 credits.

2. Top-up Subscription

Say on the 6th month, your class strength increases from 50 to 500 candidates. You now need 500 x 2 = 1000 credits for this month. You have 250 credits and will get 150 credits when the subscription renews. So, you will fall short of 1000 - 400 = 600 credits. You can buy these credits by topping up your subscription.

Topping up a subscription means buying more credits than your plan automatically gives you. This is similar to adding more toppings than your pizza has by default, and paying for those toppings. To top up, you buy Test Packs, with each Test Pack having a certain number of credits (for eg, 150). You can buy as many test packs as you want. This is a one-time cost and the credits will be available to you as long as your subscription is active.

Credit Rollover

You purchased 600 credits in Month 6. But at the last minute, you decided to conduct only 1 exam instead of 2. You want to conduct the 2nd exam in Month 7. What happens to the extra credits you purchased?

We have good news! As long as you maintain an active subscription (that is, you pay each month/quarter/year), the credits don't expire—they just roll over. So, in the 7th month, you will have 500 + 150 = 650 credits and can use them directly.

We offer discounts on longer frequency subscriptions (Quarterly and Yearly v/s Monthly) as well as bulk purchase of test packs. Our Pricing Page and the Pricing Calculator and FAQs have more details.
