Inviting candidates via email
This feature is available only on the Elite Plan. See our Pricing Page for more details.
By default, for candidates to attempt an AutoProctor test, you share the test link with them. One disadvantage with this system is that the link can be shared with other candidates. You can use Login Restrictions to ensure that the candidate email IDs have a certain pattern. But, you may want a system where you specify a set of email IDs and only candidates with those email IDs can attempt the test. Our Email Invitations feature does just that.
The video above shows how the process works. The Steps are:
Within the test settings, you enable Unique URL.
You are then shown a page where you can upload email IDs via CSV.
You can upload a maximum of 1,000 email IDs at once. If you have more than 1,000 email IDs, split them into multiple batches of 1000.
On uploading the email IDs, you will get a large blob of text. On each line of this text, is an email ID you uploaded and the test link, separated by a comma.
You can copy this text to a Google Sheet or an Excel file. Split the text on the comma and you now have a spreadsheet that has Email IDs and Links as columns.
You may share these links with the candidates any way you desire.
When a candidate clicks on a unique link, we send an email with a one-time code to the email ID corresponding to the link. This is how we can verify that only the person with access to the email can attempt the test.
Once I enable this feature, can other candidates continue to attempt the test using the direct URL?
No. As we show in the video, the direct (common) URL isn't valid once you enable this setting.
Can AutoProctor send the emails too?
AutoProctor cannot send the emails. We give you the links and you can send the emails yourself. If you are conducting a large exam (>5000 candidates) and want us to do this for you, we can do it as a separate service. If you (i) top up your account to have at least 5000 test attempts left; (ii) share the CSV with us; (iii) share the email content with us, we will send the emails out at a service cost of $100 per 5000 emails
Can I get this on the Standard or Premium Plan?
No, unfortunately. This feature is available only on the Elite Plan
Can I try this for free before I purchase the Elite Plan?
No, unfortunately. You can see the video and look at the instructions shown above. It works as described there. If you purchase the subscription and then face an issue due to our system not working as advertised above, we'd be happy to give you a refund. (This doesn't apply to you misunderstanding the feature though!)
Once I send an invitation, can I revoke it? Can I make it invalid?
We currently do not have this feature. So, be very careful with the emails you send!
