Do you record the video of the candidate? Where can I download the video?
tl;dr: We do not record the video. We continuously monitor it.
Most proctoring platforms record a video from the candidate's camera feed and upload it onto their servers. They then process the video and flag violations. In most cases, you are expected to watch the video at your end. The point of AutoProctor is that you shouldn't have to watch the entire video. So, our software monitors the candidate's video as they attempt the exam on their device itself and flags the violations directly. We do not need to upload the video anywhere.
Apart from saving you the hassle of having to watch the video, this system has another huge advantage. An easy way to cheat for candidates is to just turn their internet off and then claim they had connectivity issues. Without a video being uploaded, the proctoring report of other proctoring tools cannot contain any information. But, with AutoProctor, because the monitoring is happening on the device, even if the candidates turn the internet off, we can track their violations.
A close analogy is that of a smoke detector. A smoke detector is on all the time, monitoring the air all the time. It only goes off when there is smoke. Similarly, AutoProctor monitors the video all the time and only flags violations.
